About Babasaheb Ambedkar Jeevan Prakash Yojana
The Government of Maharashtra has launched Babasaheb Ambedkar Jeevan Prakash Yojana. Through this scheme electricity connection to the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe applicants are provided on a priority basis from MSEDCL. To get the benefit of this scheme, a total deposit of Rs 500 is to be paid by the beneficiary to MSEDCL for the electricity connection. Beneficiaries also have the option to pay this amount in five equal installments. Applicants can get the benefit of this scheme from 14 April 2021 to 6 December 2021. As soon as MSEDCL receives a complete application with proper documents they will start the process of home electricity connection. Applicants can apply under this scheme through an online or offline.
Availability Of Electrical Infrastructure
After the approval of the application, if electricity infrastructure is available then MSEDCL will provide the connection to the beneficiary in the next 15 working days. In those areas where electrical infrastructure is not available then MSEDCL will construct a power connection and the infrastructure will be provided by MSEDCL from swanidhi or District planning committee funds or agricultural contingency funds or other available funds and after that, the beneficiary will be provided connection. In order to get the benefit of this scheme, there should be no previous arrears of electricity bill at the place of application for connection. The applicant has to attach the test report of the power layout along with the application. This power layout report should be made by the approved electrical contractor.

Eligibility Criteria of Babasaheb Ambedkar Jeevan Prakash Yojana
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra
- The applicant must belong to the scheduled caste or scheduled tribe category
- No previous arrears of electricity bill at the place of application of connection should be present
